The Democracy of Basdville is a sovereign nation located on the continent of Okanza, characterized by dense forests and a sweeping southern mountain range, with deserts dominating the northeast. Its southern coast borders the Arktikik Strait, while to the west lies the Livesea Empire’s Fort Novoieya Zemlia, situated on a neighboring island. Basdville shares land borders with Guhow to the east, the irradiated remnants of southern Pastria to the north, and the microstate of South Orvinsk, tucked just above the central belt.

The capital city, aptly named Obama, is located in the southern region, beneath the mountain spine. Other major cities include Fein.ogg, Where tf am I City, and the notably long-winded Zacharylikestoignoremesoimnamingthesetownswithdumbassnames, a humorous but officially recognized urban center reflecting a unique part of Basdville’s culture.

Founded in 1978 by the enigmatic Sigma Obamium, Basdville led a relatively quiet existence for decades until a catastrophic event in 2034 shook the nation—and all of Arzinia. That year, Georgy Markov, a fanatical leader of the Rutavet Union, launched a massive nuclear assault that plunged much of the planet into near nuclear winter, with over 400 million casualties globally. Though Basdville was impacted, it has since become a symbol of resilience in post-nuclear Arzinia.

Governed as a democracy, the nation is led by Zakary Szimons, who continues to be re-elected repeatedly due to immense popular support. English is the official language, and Catholicism remains the dominant religion. Today, Basdville stands as a quiet powerhouse, known for its recovery efforts, steady leadership, and surprisingly meme-worthy city names. In English, Basdville's predecessor is the Republic of the Bartix and successor is the Republic of Bellairis.
